Why bother

Cloudy headlights aren't just ugly. They're a real safety and MOT problem.

Pass your MOT

Headlights with poor light output, discolouration or pitting are an automatic MOT fail under section 4.1. We restore the lens before it costs you a fresh test fee.

See the road properly

Oxidised lenses scatter and absorb light, cutting your effective beam by as much as half. That's the difference between spotting a hazard and not.

Far cheaper than replacement

Modern headlight units from a main dealer can run into the hundreds, plus labour. We restore yours to the same factory-clear finish for a fraction of the cost — and our UV sealant is included as standard.

Home or work — we come to you

Front driveway, office car park, mum's house — wherever the car is, we'll be there. Fully mobile across Essex, London and Kent. No garage drop-offs, no waiting rooms, no time off work.

The process

Four stages. Around an hour. Factory-clear finish.

No quick polish. A proper multi-stage restoration that removes the damaged surface and reseals the lens against future UV damage.

  1. 01

    Inspect & mask

We check the lens for cracks or internal damage that would rule restoration out, then tape off the paintwork and trim so nothing else gets touched.

  2. 02

    Wet-sand the oxidation

Multiple grades of wet sandpaper — coarse through to 3000 grit — remove the yellow oxidised top layer of the polycarbonate lens completely.

  3. 03

    Machine polish

Cutting compound on a machine polisher restores optical clarity. The lens goes from frosted-glass dull to crystal-clear.

  4. 04

    UV ceramic sealant

A professional-grade UV ceramic sealant locks in the finish and protects against future sun damage for years. Included with every job — where most others charge extra for this.

What's included

Every job, fully kitted out as standard.

Where most restorers charge extra for protection — or leave it out entirely — we include everything. One job, one fair price, no surprises and no upsells.

Mobile call-out

We come to you — your driveway, your work car park, anywhere in our Essex, London and Kent service area. No garage drop-off, no waiting room, no time off work.

12-month guarantee

If your treated headlights yellow, haze or oxidise within a year, we'll come back and re-do them at no charge. That's the confidence the UV sealant gives us.

Around an hour, start to finish

Most pairs are done in 45 to 60 minutes. Single headlights, around half that. Quick enough to fit into a lunch break.

FAQ

Everything you might want to ask first.

Will my car fail its MOT if the headlights are cloudy?

Yes. Cloudy, yellowed or hazy headlights significantly reduce light output and are a common MOT failure point. The DVSA's data shows around 18.6% of all MOT failures involve headlights. Restoring them is far cheaper than replacing the units and almost always solves the issue.

How long does headlight restoration take?

Most full pair restorations take around 45 to 60 minutes. We come to your home or workplace anywhere in Essex, London or Kent, so there is no need to drop the car off or wait at a garage.

How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on the vehicle and the condition of the lenses. Send a couple of photos on WhatsApp and we'll price it up for you within minutes — no obligation, no follow-up sales calls. Restoration is always significantly cheaper than buying replacement headlights from a main dealer.

How long will it last?

Our UV ceramic sealant is included with every job as standard — most restored lenses stay clear for 2 to 3 years. We back the work with a 12-month guarantee. Many other restorers either charge extra for the sealant or skip it altogether, which is why their results often fade within months.

Is restoration cheaper than replacing the headlights?

Almost always. Replacement headlight units from a main dealer can run into the hundreds of pounds each, plus fitting. Our restoration gives the same factory-clear appearance at a fraction of the price. The only time replacement makes more sense is if the lens has cracked internally or moisture has got inside the unit.

What if the lens is cracked or has internal damage?

If we spot a crack or internal moisture before starting, we'll tell you up front and refund any deposit — restoration only works on surface oxidation and UV damage. We'd rather turn the job down than do work that won't last.

Do you do fleets, taxis or multiple cars?

Yes — multiple cars at the same address get a discounted rate. We work with private hire firms, dealerships and small fleets across Essex. Give us a ring on 07958 444056 for a tailored quote.

Which areas do you cover?

All of Essex including Chelmsford, Romford, Basildon, Brentwood, Colchester, Southend, Harlow, Braintree, Epping and Loughton — plus East and North London and most of Kent (Dartford, Gravesend, Medway, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, Ashford, Canterbury). Full postcode list above.
